The Biophytum Sensitivum in preserving jar maintains its own ecosystem. This means that all nutrients, water and oxygen are constantly recycled. This way, the natural humidity of the living environment (ecosystem) of the plant is simulated. This plant takes care of itself completely. You can enjoy it for months, without having to put in any effort.
After receiving the plant ecosystem, it will require a few minutes of your time as it is a “Do It Yourself” (DIY) package. After planting your Biophytum Sensitivum, all you need to do is pick a good spot. Make sure you place the preserving jar in a light place, clear of direct sunlight. Because the plant maintains its own ecosystem, a little condensation will form on the inside of the preserving pot every day. If the amount of moisture becomes more and more over time, air the pot briefly. Finally, it is a good idea to turn the pot a little bit once in a while. This way you prevent all the leaves from growing in the same direction.
The Biophytum Sensitivum is an eye-catching tree with a tropical look. The plant is originally from tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia, and it’s also nicknamed ‘little tree plant’. With its wooden stem and the shape of its leaves, the plant in fact looks a lot like a little tree. What’s special about these leaves, is the fact that they fold up as you touch them.
Plant care:
Due to the ecosystem, watering is not necessary. Be sure not to open the jar after first closing it, in order not to disturb the ecosystem.
Place the plant in a light spot, but not in direct sunlight.
Room temperature (spot where the temperature is constant).
All plant ecosystems have been carefully tested by our plant grower. Practice shows that the average lifespan is about 3 to 6 months. The life span can also be much longer, provided the conditions are ideal. As plants are living organisms and we cannot predict how they respond to its conditions in your home, we cannot give any guarantees regarding the lifespan.

Delivery:
Our plants are delivered fresh from the grower. They make a quick pit stop at our distribution centre, where they are carefully packaged in a plant-friendly box. After packaging, your plants are sent straight to your home!
Because plants are living products, they are never exactly identical to the pictures shown on our website. Height measurements and shapes may differ due to weather conditions, for example.
